Health & Safety Audit
A risk assessment is one of the most important and effective means of managing health and safety within your business. You have a legal requirement to conduct Health and Safety Risk Assessments. First Class Safety can drawn on our wealth of experience to develop a detailed and rigorous risk assessment process which enables you to fully examine all aspects of your business activity. The result of this process is a detailed but user friendly report which explains our findings and highlights strengths and weaknesses associated with current procedures and practices.
The Health and Safety Risk Assessment will follow three simple steps:
Step 1 – Site Inspection
The first step will identify hazards within your business and the risks associated with them. The assessment takes into account:
- Adequacy of your company health and safety policy and procedures in place.
- Adequacy and training needs of employees on site.
- Control of contractors.
- Records of maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Assessment of the current workplace conditions i.e. housekeeping, state of repair of equipment and premises, safety of activities undertaken within the workplace, security, adequacy of welfare facilities etc.
Our detailed approach ensures we are asking all the right questions and gathering the correct information to enable us to provide the most effective health and safety advice
Step 2 – Report
The second step will gather all necessary information and compile an easy to understand report.
- General Information: The report will detail all our findings during the inspection stage including comments where appropriate.
- Current control measures: The report will also provide information relating to the types and effectiveness of any control measures in place on site.
Step 3 – Action Plan
The report will provide an action plan detailing the necessary recommendations required in order to comply with current health and safety standards and legislation and the time scale in which these should be achieved. The action plan is split into three priority levels.
- Red (High Risk & Legal Requirement)
- Amber (Medium Risk & Legal Requirement or Recommendation)
- Green (Low Risk & Recommendation Only)
